Ask the Right Questions??????

It is very important to ask the right questions of anyone you plan to hire. Make sure you have a written contract for your vendors. Most professionals in the wedding business have contracts from the DJ to the venue and of course your photographer.
Other important questions are:
* How long have you been photographing weddings?
* Do you offer online ordering for family and friends?
* How long does that gallery stay online?
* What type or style of photography do you specialize in?
* Will you take formal portraits of my bridal party and family?
* What kind of equipment do you use?
* Will you book another wedding for my day?
* How far in advance do we need to make a deposit and hire you?
* Will we receive a CD with High resolution images or thumbnail images?
* What is your cancellation policy?
* Do you work alone or have an assistant or second shooter?
* Will you drink alcohol at my event?
* Do you have insurance?
* Do you have an office or studio so we can see your work?
* Do you have references from past clients?
* Are you a member of the WPJA ? (http://www.wpja.com/ The Wedding Photojournalist Association is a professional organization composed of photojournalists and wedding Photographers.)

Any Professional Photographer will be happy to answer your questions like the ones above. Try and steer clear of "Weekend Wedding Photographers" by that I mean people that moonlight as wedding photographers. You want a Pro that does this full time and has an office or studio.
With careful planning you will have a happy day and beautiful images to remember that day.

Who is this Stranger at my Wedding?

We are a mother daughter team and we work every assignment together.
Many photographers over book and sell extra bookings to less qualified photographers.

You will never have a stranger show up at your wedding with our team. Bonnie and/or Julie will be there as well as members of our trusted staff. We do not sell off our bookings or hire other photographers to shoot our weddings.

Now I know you are wondering why do we mention this? Well it is a common practice in this industry and we want our clients to know that we do not do that. It is very important that you know who will be at your wedding.

We are located in Torrance, CA, and have photographed weddings throughout Southern California Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and Ventura Counties as well as Northern California. We will travel out of California, please ask us for our travel rates.

Manhattan Beach Pier

Great destination wedding location. Parking is easy and you can not beat the view.
Shops, bars and nice restaurant's just a short walk from the pier. Have your reception here after your beach wedding.
This is a great place for Englagement shoots. We like to take couples under the pier.

Location Location Location

Picking the right Wedding Venue can be tough on anyone. There are so many around the Los Angeles and Orange County areas.
I think every wedding photographer has a favorite place...
But, of course we look at it from the artistic side.
So if you are undecided on a location it is good to ask around and photographers are a good resource.
Every venue has a story and we are happy to tell you of our experiences.

Wedding Planners...When you Say I Do !

Yes, yes, yes please hire a Wedding Planner. There are only so many hours in the day to plan your special day. When that day is here you want to be able to enjoy the moment. Trust a Wedding Professional with your plans and you will not be sorry.

So often we see Brides and Grooms so wound up with so many details they just miss the entire point of the day. You want to enjoy the special ceremony and vows you selected, soak up all the emotion in the room and walk down that aisle husband and wife.

That is all that should be on your mind at that moment. Your pictures will show all that tension and worry. I see it all the time and it is so hard to get the relaxed images when the B&G are so stressed. We see the darting eyes, frowns and worry in their faces. So relax on your wedding day and smile.

Your Hair Your Wedding Day...

This has to be one of the most asked questions... So how are you wearing your hair on your wedding day?
Consider a few things when deciding on that hair style...
Are you getting married outside?
What is the weather report for that day? Is your venue windy?
Hot and humid with wind will spell disaster for any hair that is not glued to your head.
Just remember your pictures will have flying hair and that is almost impossible to remove in post processing.
It is not sexy to have hair across your face in any shot.
Trust us we want the best and you will not be happy with the images if your hair is a mess.

Now indoors that is another story...long hair in curls is great.
